Some Unrecorded Beam launches June 14th!

We could not be more excited to announce the release our new EP “Some Unrecorded Beam” on June 14th at Chop Suey! We have been working hard the past few months crafting and recording new songs with our friend Wesley Williams who has now joined forces with us as our second guitarist. We are overjoyed with the results as the four of us experiment and develop a more expansive and atmospheric sound. We hope you all can come celebrate with us in Seattle, this new release and milestone for us as a band!

Also…

Be sure to come and support our friends Cat from Hue as well as they release a brand new 3 song EP! Celebrate this dual EP release with us! It is going to be an incredible evening of top-notch local music.

Some shows and some news (new EP, t-shirts)

Greetings all!

First thing's first - thanks to everyone who came out to the Vera Project on Friday! We had a great time playing, and an even greater time watching our friends The Warm HardiesThe Cat from Hue, andLand of Pines totally kill it.

On a different note, here's a couple of cool things we have coming up in the near future:

- This weekend, we will officially enter the studio with our friend/sonic mastermind Wesley Williams to begin recording our sophomore EP. It will feature 5 previously unrecorded songs. We will be posting updates/pictures/videos about the recording process frequently, so stay tuned!

- We will have T-shirts (most likely) by the next time you see us! The designs are finished, and we are very proud of them. - We will be playing in Gig Harbor on March 4th with the one and only COLONIES! It's their first show in a long time and they are honestly one of my favorite live bands in the NW. Not to mention, it's for our close friend Kyle Peterson's senior project. Don't miss it. Check the event page here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=190573574298972

- Lately, we've been talking about the Burning Building Recordings compilation that we're on... And we will have a chance to share it with you really soon! We're playing a CD release show for the compilation with The Oregon DonorThe Courage, and Candysound on April 1st at the Q Cafe. Everyone who shows up gets a free copy of the compilation! Check out some info here:
And the event page for the show:

- On April 15th, we will be opening for none other than HEY MARSEILLES! It will be all-ages and in Seattle. It's the only show that they will have played in a really long time. You're not gonna want to miss it. Stay tuned for info about getting tickets (they'll probably go fast). The Warm Hardies and The Violins (formerly known as Caulfield and His Magical Violin) will also be performing.

Love,
Us on Roofs

10 Reasons to come to the Vera Project on Friday, February 18th

1. This is the first time we've played a real show at Vera (the other time we played there, it was a benefit show that we opened at... and there was no one in the audience for us; the other bands didn't even watch our set).

2. Land of Pines has been making tons of waves in Seattle lately. They've been getting write-ups left and right; twice in Sound on the Sound and once in Seattle Show Gal, among others.

3. Matt Batey's and Tamara Power-Drutis' vocal harmonies.

4. The Cat From Hue has new material that blows doors down. Getting to hear it at the Vera Project will be a treat.

5. We will be playing 3 brand new songs! This will be the first chance to preview them before we release them on the EP we will start recording later this month.

6. Conservative Dad hasn’t played a show since September of 2009 – I certainly miss them, and if you ever saw them, you probably do too. The Warm Hardies will help ease the pain of our longing.

7. It’s your last chance to see Land of Pines before they bring down the house at EMP|SFM’s Sound Off! 2011.

8. Sound on the Sound (local music blog) will be there to review the show!

9. Land of Pines will be performing for the first time ever with Jarred Katz on drums – the man is practically a legend.

And most of all, number ten…
10. Matt Batey’s beard.

Burning Building Recordings: We Love This Comp

I'm sure a lot of you have heard of the local record label Burning Building Recordings. They've been responsible for releasing many great local (and not-so-local) records in the past few years, including The Oregon Donor's "A Pageant's End," and the now legendary "We Sing the Body Electric!" by The Lonely Forest (the album that caught the attention of thousands of people across the nation, including, but not limited to the one and only Chris Walla).

Needless to say, we've been big fans of BBR for a while now - we love the bands they sign and we love the records they put out. So we are brimming with pride at this announcement:

Burning Buildings Recordings is releasing a compilation album called "We Love This Comp" that features one of our songs!

Recently we recorded our song "Fossils" with Wesley Williams of The Cat from Hue. We spent an entire day in my living room and we couldn't be more happy with the product. Wesley is a sonic mastermind. We are very happy to have this song represent us on such an awesome compilation.

Curious about where to get a copy? Easy -- you can get one for free if you come to either of the following two shows, celebrating the release of the compilation:

The Sunset | Thursday, March 31st | 21+
Featuring: You.May.Die.in.the.Desert, Post Harbor, Exohxo, Daniel G. Harmann and the Trouble Starts, Eighteen Individual Eyes, and Yarn Owl

The Q Cafe | Friday, April 1st | ALL AGES
Featuring: The Courage, Us on Roofs, The Oregon Donor, Candysound, and Kids and Animals

Yeah, that's right, The Oregon Donor. Did I mention they recorded a new song for the compilation?
